Robert Lee Brewer’s Poem-a-Day prompt is his usual "Two for Tuesday":
1. “Write a love poem and/or . . .”
2. “Write an anti-love poem. Because some folks just aren’t that into love poems.” Maureen Thorson’s NaPoWriMo prompt: “Find a poem in a language that you don’t know, and perform a ‘homophonic translation’ on it. What does that mean? Well, it means to try to translate the poem simply based on how it sounds.”
Although I usually love the process and challenge of “homophonic translation” — also called “transliteration” — I’m just not feeling the love today. So I’m going with “love/anti-love.”

I Am Saturday beneath Your Entire Love
because you are undressing,
rubbing oatmeal lotion
on your face, your arms, your neck,
your upper chest, between breasts,
where sun was touching you,
and I will wrap my arm
around your hip and squeeze
your upper thigh that’s lost
its tautness as familiar we
can look at how we’ve aged
these thirty years, deny
with certainty what changes
how we feel in hand, in heart,
what tautness gone in heart
like tether loose enough
to let our feelings range
beyond our concentrated
love to love enveloping
our children, love rekindled
for familiar folks, our steady
love beyond that early
aching passion, the havened
love, the nestled love, the nuzzled
love of grasping upper thigh
and pressing bristly whiskers
to your yielding belly roll—

Sir Thomas Alan Holmes, your poem has taken my breath away. It has somehow, though we’ve never met, managed to sneak in unbidden and stolen the very thoughts I fell asleep thinking from my head.
And Vince, you craft surprises into your poetry like lavender slips into the sunrise leaving me both delighted and gaping in wonder at how you did it.
