Maureen Thorson’s NaPoWriMo prompt: "write a poem re-telling a family anecdote that has stuck with you over time. It could be the story of the time your Uncle Louis caught a home run ball, the time your Cousin May accidentally brought home a coyote and gave it a bath, thinking it was a stray dog, or something darker (or even sillier)." Robert Lee Brewer’s Poem-a-Day prompt: The usual "two-for-Tuesday" . . . a "love poem" and/or an "anti-love poem." Mixed all three prompts today. A family anecdote about a family anecdote. You Decide In my little three-person family, we had a longstanding anecdote that my dad's ex-wife had tried to stab him with scissors. After my mom died, my father came to me and said, "I'm going to re-marry Carolina." "Papa," I said, "she tried to kill you!" And he said, "No, Vin. I made that up for your mother."
