Robert Lee Brewer’s Poem-a-Day prompt: “[T]ake the phrase "(blank) Story," replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles include: "Toy Story," "Super Long Unusually Strange Story," and/or "Same Old Story." Poem your story, so we can get at the second half of this challenge.” Maureen Thorson’s NaPoWriMo prompt “comes to us from Juan Martinez. It asks you to think about a small habit you picked up from one of your parents, and then to write a piece that explores an early memory of your parent engaged in that habit, before shifting into writing about yourself engaging in the same habit.” Alan worked with both prompts today, producing this fun limerick. Pat-Down Story I also worked with both prompts, and came up with a curtal sonnet. Same Old Story: Dad’s and My Jams Friends, won’t you comment, please? Love to know what you’re thinking. Thanks! Ingat, everyone. ヅ |

I think this past year will become known as the "Age of the Sweatpants." Nice curtal sonnet. And GREAT reading tonight for Aeolian Harp! What an excellent group of poets - some stunning and even heartbreaking stuff. My poem for today is about inheriting my mother's fear of thunderstorms. And did you see my poem on today's website Your Daily Poem? (If you don't get to it this evening, you can back-page to April 15 on their website, www.yourdailypoem.com.)
Bruce, thanks for coming to the reading. I just looked at Your Daily Poem. Congrats!
