| Hello, friends. Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon! (That's "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" in Filipino.) I hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday season. Here are a couple of pictures of the Filipino parol or Christmas star lantern. These were traditionally made of bamboo strips and colored paper lit from within by candles; today they are made of many materials (such as capiz shell in the picture on the right) and are often ornately decorated. In between the two phrases you could string "at" (which means "and"). Say the "a" in that word like "father."
Oh, about "Filipino" ... that's an official language in the Philippines constructed from the 70 Philippine languages (mostly from Tagalog).
