Last time, I mentioned that my daughter Amanda was a "senior in college" . . . well, that's no longer the case. Because she now has a BA in Anthropology from Grinnell College. Congratulations, Amanda!

Mary Ann and I — as well as your sibs Marty, Amelia, Melina, and Gabe — wish you the very best in all that you'll do and are already doing to make the world a better place to live, where love will connect and inspire everyone you encounter. |

Congratulations to you and your whole family, Vince. In August I bring my youngest to college for his freshman year (my elder son is an actor son never did the usual US college thing). Getting in and getting set up is such a huge deal that it is incredible how it flies by so quickly. And then?
Congratulations!!!
Hi, Sue ... yes, it does fly by quickly. It would be a cliché to say it seems like yesterday that she started kindergarten. But it would also be true! Good luck with getting your son set up for college. Where's he going to go? --Vince
Barb ... thanks so much! In a couple of days, we have another graduation: Amelia from high school. Exciting times around the Gotera household. Thanks again. —Vince
It sounds that way!!! Must be really exciting.
What a milestone for you and your family! And with Amelia graduating from high school another round of TUITION begins, lol. What proud and happy times for you and for your family! I am happy for all of you and especially the girls and their goals achieved. It is such a heady feeling to work so hard for such a long time and REACH the pinnacle. Good job, girls!
Polly ... thanks for bringing up tuition! J/K. Both Amanda and Amelia say thanks for the good wishes. Speaking of tuition, there are two younger kids coming up!
Vince it's so fun to see the product of your & Mary Ann's blood, sweat & tears mixed with schooling too! Amanda is so grown up now and beautiful - ready for the world! Congrats to her and to you and Mary Ann. You should be getting Olani's graduation announcement soon. Our daughters are wonderful - well most of the time:)
Anthropology, big sister of ethnography and cousin of linguistics -- very worthy. Congratulations!
Becky! Thanks for the comment. Yes, we did get Olani's graduation announcement. Congratulations to her. And to all of you guys. She's so beautiful ... her picture shows a very interesting mix of you and Jeph. I still think of her as a little kid. I guess we need to get together more often. Are you going to the Midwest any time soon?
Darek, thank you. I'll pass on your comment to Amanda. I hope you and Kayoko and the wee ones are well.
